History of logistics:

It used to say the supportive behavior to move resource (food) to front line to move in World war II. Afterward applied by FORD for model a car in Mass production, nowaday evolve to supply chain management then replenishment, the trend is about Supply Chain transparency 

 

Operation refer to all activity from raw material ,components and packaging into finish goods then distribute to the final customer .

All in all, the chain of activity is so called supply-chain. 

 

Demand  & supply reply on supply chain management to coordinate to be balanced. 

Two ways of that, either build stock but there depreciation risk or have lead time but could be customer’s disparagement. 

 

The market which is more stable tend to have better forecast then plan the supplying plan.

However, more fancy or fast moving product tend to be difficult to predict. The ordination is more important for this.
